I'm starting to wonder if perhaps my issue is exactly what OP and a few others are dealing with. I got my XL a couple days ago and did all the updates and I went to connect my Yamaha MX 61 keyboard into my MPC XL via quarter inch TRS cables. I also connected both of my midi cables from the back of my MX 61 to the back of my MPC XL and immediately noticed issues when trying to play a midi track. The MPC XL is not picking up most of the notes I play. When I checked "MIDI MONITOR" there is a TON of "midi clock and "active sense" messages flying up the screen. Sadly this also effects me trying to use my MX 61 as simply a midi controller. So whether I'm trying to record a midi track and then print that to an audio track, or if I'm trying to record notes from a plugin with my MX 61, the issue is still present in both scenarios.

Press 10 notes and only 1 note plays. Also other weird stuff like it'll act as though I'm holding down my sustain pedal even when I'm quickly pressing and releasing a note on the keyboard. This is driving me nuts!
This exact same setup has worked for years without any problems with my MPC X and MX 61 together with the exact same cables etc. But as soon as I get excited to setup my XL now I'm dealing with all this crap?
