MIDI Foot Controller

I am trying to connect my Morningstar MC8 Pro to my MPC Live 3. When I connect it via USB C it does not show up in my list of "input ports" on my MPC, but when I click on my MC8 Pro the current sequence stops playing so it appears that something is coming through.

1. Why isn't it listed?
2. Why is it stopping my current sequence?
2. How do I set the midi channel for the MPC?

Have you tried a USB C output (Morningstar) to the USB A input (Live 3) with the appropriate wire?

I have a few things in the studio that require that.

midi program > track view > set output channel. make sure to enable monitor on your audio track (that you want to capture into) because once you switch to the midi program track the audio will cut out otherwise.

I want to set the midi in channel on the MPC so that I can direct the Morningstar out to the correct channel. How do I do that?

Can someone please tell me how to set the midi in channel on the MPC?
