They really don’t.

I delayed installing v3 for a while ‘cause I wanted to hear/read about people’s issues, concerns and problems. After a long while I went in on v3 w/ X and Key61. I’ve only looked back to help troubleshoot in v2.

not all changes are the same , implying i'm not for innovation because i dont like the specific direction a software has taken is simply , sorry to say this, stupid. last night i played a live show, half of it on the mpc 1k half on the live mk1 with os 2.9 . if i had switched to the new OS there is NO WAY i would have been able to perform for 45 minutes on the live mk1 using ONE SINGLE PROJECT.
guys you have to understand that some of us always loved the mpc's also because they are FANTASTIC tools to use on stage, perhaps the only machines capable of performing complex material with this amount of versatility. os 3 simply makes this IMPOSSIBLE or very very hard. i like some of the new features of it but not enough to throw away the ability to perform as i do

It is a crappy reason, but they probably don’t want to add this because it is a good reason for people to upgrade to the newer mpc’s… with the step sequencer it is easy to press record and tr record automatically like a 808. It us the easiest way to do what you are looking for but they don’t want to give away that functionality for free I bet.. pretty crappy, there should be a way to move around the screen no matter what screen you are on.

Maybe, but on the Force you can use the pads in Step-Seq mode to work as a 16, 32 or 64 Step-Sequencer. They can do the same with the 16 pads on the MPC. This would allow the 16 function buttons on the L3 & XL to used for other things while the pads enter the steps. This would benefit the g2 One the most & help to compensate if only has 8 function buttons like the Force.
