Hearing someone use the SP-404 Mk2's "resonator" effect got me curious about comb filters... And I find the MPC has none of that. Closest I could find is one guy here, wishing for one.

Absence of some types of effects can be explained by their CPU requirements, but comb filtering can't. So, why ? Akai just doesn't like comb filters and their resonator cousins ?

All credits goes to Akai, who listened to the users and promptly acted... Well, maybe - but I'll stick to that generous explanation. Some cranky individuals might hazard that the comb filter got there by accident along with the bunch of stuff necessary for MPC Sample projects to load & play correctly on MPC. Dear Akai, I will not condone such deleterous insinuations !

Speed (expressed in fractions of time division) is the only setting. Better than nothing - and it does sound interesting: I had great fun tonight running a kalimba (actual physical one looped on the RC-505 mk2) through it.

Other finds: Touch FX can have up to four simultaneous effects, no more... But it only counts as one in the channel's four effects slots. Smells like a send, but it may just be a coincidence.
