TriggerFX from 3.8 uses q-links well, $50 Flex Beat does not

I understand it, it’ll take macros to get my XL to fake it.

On MPC Sample you stay on the main screen to work pads.
How is that gonna work when you move around to different banks and tracks on other mpc’s?

It’s not working as expected, not even close.

Masi understood and foresaw this problem when he posted earlier.

Best thing I can think of on XL is to use trigger fx on q-links or touch screen, no stress, no fuss, no combining several options to get it done.

I don't know if this is what you guys are talking about but on the Force, the Pad FX can use the screen & or 64 pads. The pads are velocity & pressure sensitive so can use them like a vol fader. You can even reverse them so that the vol turns up when you press on it. They can be set to act as off/on triggers as well. You have to set the pad to Pad FX mode so the they don't trigger the drum/sample on the pad which is call note mode on the Force:
