OG X - flickering screen

Hello mpcheads!

Got a small issue with my og X - after a hour of playing with it my screen starts to flicker a little - like turning brightness up and down in short ticks, touch is responsive, rest of mpc is responsive but it concerns me a lot.
I like to keep my machines in 100% shape at any time, any clues what is going on?

My X occasionally does this. Turning up brightness stopped it the one time I tried that, which makes me suspect something in screen power supply is failing.

And yes this was happening before the ants got inside (other thread).

There’s a YouTube channel where they set up a bunch of televisions and ran them nonstop for over a year to track failure points of different brands. As I recall a common failure was the led lights that illuminate the screen.

I'm thinking about opening X at the weekend free time, to do some spring cleaning and cleaning flex cables/contacts with 99% ipa - maybe it will help with the flickering, any tips and clues are more than welcome before i will break something inside

I don't have answers on that but like to hear a follow up. I have a Force that needs a pot cleaned and my X which I bought used recently seems fairly old.

I feel like on the long term TV screen test I watched one failure point was bad connections and solder points in wiring looms.
