Yeah, and it seems that the only way to set them is using MIDI Learn connected to an external controller. That’s why I think the easiest fix is to just allow manual assignment. Leave destination selection as is, just allow us to choose a MIDI CC instead of having to wiggle a knob!

Talking about MIDI Learn, would it be too much to ask for the table to be sortable by columns, to at least group the learns by program ? They are currently a flat list, sorted by order of learning, which makes no sense and results in aggravating scrolling. Barring an interactive sortable/filterable table, some modicum of default logical grouping would help a lot. As a software person, I guarantee it won't cost too much...

As stated here, beeing able to edit and import/export midi mappings on a computer would make life easier.

Yes

While I’m dreaming, I may as well add Ableton/Bitwig/Logic/Rm1x style MIDIFX to the list. This would be a big OS upgrade, though. It would require a serious change of data flow and screens.

Even Zenbeats has MIDI effects. Lots of previous conversation about MIDI effects here. MIDI effects may be difficult to shoehorn into the current system - I've no idea about that, but I believe one of their qualities makes them especially attractive to provide value to the Gen1 devices: negligible CPU load compared to audio effects.

swap pads directly without copy paste workaround.

Please make it so the X-axis on the mpce pads can send pitch bend information!
When I wiggle my fingers left to right I expect this movement to cause upward/downward pitch bend information to be sent!
This functionality should be available for all track types, not only drum programs!
