Colony of ants in device

Finally got them all out i think. Took many days there were a lot. Ended up using liquid bait traps, and a couple days later they found a hole in trash bag and made a mass exodus.

Didn't disassemble the MPX X but couldn't see any inside space for SSD drive bay or in the vents or on various circuit boards inside when I used a flashlight. Seems to function fine, and luckily none got underneath any of the screens and stayed there (the X has 17 OLED screens plus the main display and a VU)

I think what happened was I had some empty Red Bull cans in my garage studio, and somehow they decided the warm gap between SSD and it's mounting plate was a cozy warm place to bring the sugar and start a colony. That happened, they loved it, and ran out of room so more ants inside. It was a pulsing mass of ants and a fair amount of their eggs. Had to vacuum them out from underneath which was a fun diversion.

Did some research and there are two kinds of ant baits: liquid and solid, you use the liquid for ants attracted by sugar. Probably need to fog bomb the garage now ugh.

Yes thanks I used something similar although supposedly there’s one kind for sugar ants and the solids are for most other ants. Both have the take back to colony poison, with the sugar ants one being baited with a sweet goo liquid and the other kind having protein based solid bait to lure the ants.

Fire ants are another problem in my part of the world in warm months but luckily they stay outside for some reason.

I'd rather ants than roaches or rats. lol.

Or spiders. An MPC full of spiders would be rubbish.

(Unless you're Australian, in which case you wouldn't bat an eyelid, except to wonder where the snakes had got to.)

Big spiders I'm with you. but my little jumping spider friends that share my house are more than welcome. I love those little mosquito assassins.
