Making the pads lighter grey would of been a better look; but they should of made the other buttons either grey or cream and the qlinks and data wheel should of been the same colour as the main unit

Nah, I like the contrast of black buttons & knobs against the light color body. Just not feeling them dusty looking pads. I never really liked the classic color, so I'm not into the retro. I rather have a black case with light colored buttons & knobs.

The Akai on the side is also the same modern one.. so why is it a retro? The old retro has the old Akai label on the front and the back, now you have a modern Akai on the sides? This is goofy.. they should just make all mpc’s grey and drop this retro stuff..

but then they cannot sell the same MPC with different colors to the same person multiple times.

i was raised on the "classic" color and never got into the black color akais (didnt stop me from getting them though!!). the black live 3 looked great but it wont be missed. im going to give it away to a local shop here in la...

also the retro live 3 goes well with my other gear ---

my man said it above --- inmusic know folks like the retro, so this was easy money. they didnt remake the rubber buttons and all they did was change the faceplate -- i recall mpc stuff would make these face plates for the older mpc's back in the day...

MPC Stuff will probably launch a classic pads upgrade for the Live mk3 along with fat pads...

Why are you taking it so personal?

It's a public forum & people will have & share different opinions & that's OK. But if they're gonna call it retro then they should go all the way & not just put a new skin on it, which is something we could've did ourselves. At least give it the old logo like someone else mentioned.

Also why not quote the post where I said I like the color contrast between the light color case & the black buttons & knobs. I mentioned I didn't like the classic color to say that I'm not attached to it being 100% accurate like some people are, but I get the disappointment.

I miss my funky s900 that these old white dudes threw out at my pops old job back in 2004. Have fun with your collection!

i think the live 3 retro looks quite ok, i like it better than the black one.
not much more you can do with these new lighten-up buttons in terms of contrast...
for me the retro live 2 was also not a real atempt to go vintage all the way. the new sample however is looking very good.

i think with the live 3 and the xl, i would prefer a sp-1200 look. different shades of (darker) grey with some nice colour accents.

That’s kinda wild to just give away a almost two thousand dollar mpc because you got a different color..

I'd assume "give" here means sell/trade in.

Using the software which is there daw as a plugin in a daw made zero sense.. so if im slow thinking that way we'll I need a new pair of velcro strap sneakers.. your complaining about wanting new features but don't want to upgrade. Pause.. but like seeing on your mpc the same shit you see as a plugin in your daw to then use your daw to drag over and then finish in your daw wasting how much latency and resources.. when you can upgrade have usb c 24 tracks and 32 midi channels in standalone tracking to your daw.. i will be slow all day my friend.. Hopefully the .vst3 pluginbeing worked on.. then in 6 months after when legacy support is dropped you be back complaining... Just make beats..
