The RAM is mainly just holding the data, the processor is doing most of the running. Plus G2 MPC has a bigger internal SD. Also, keep in mind that 8 plugs was a limit that Akai set, but even the hacked 2GB MPC/Force can run run more than 8 plugs at once.

Whoever can't make a record with what they already got in the Key37 really can't make a record at all with a new Key37 G2. I don't think the G2 will enable people to make records that couldn't make with the regular Key37 Keyboard. But for those that wants to pay for a few more gigs of memory space, more power to them. I think most peoples are waiting for a true upgrade to to the original Key37 with upgraded pads of the new units, and touch strip. But that may come after they introduce the next Key61 with upgraded features.

Yup, people be wanting new shit just for the new gear high :smoker:
But G2 is a major jump in power & connectivity & less people are hating on the color like they with red 37. It's not that much than the G1, so people can sale the old & get the new. Akai's use market is about to be insane. A whole bunch of people will get something like a used One for very cheap & be hooked, esp for Sample users wanting to step up, a used One (that's still currently getting updates) is perfect!

Why do you care what others do with their money. People have all kinds of reason for buying different MPCs. Everything that they did add to this g2 key37 is worth an upgrade if those things are important for someone. Could Akai done more to the design like gave it MPCe pads? Yes, and maybe they'll add a Pro/SE unit later, but as it is, a better color, more RAM, a more powerful processor, 32 plugs & USB-C, isn't stupid to people who already have the g1 or anyone who would liked a more powerful key37 that wasn't red.

There’s a guy in Africa famous for playing a guitar with only one string. He’s really good. I guess that means the other 5 strings are unnecessary? Why even have an orchestra when you could just have a guy with a tambourine huh?

Anyhow, try to make a Psytrance song on a k37 g1 and get back to us.

JethroJethro wrote:That’s the beginnings of a Psytrance track. Needs more modulated synths and effects. Which is too much for a single gen 1 MPC.

You can add plenty of vsts to the sequence nothing ground breaking at all my opinion tho

That image is so obviously fake - the key 37 is hanging so far off the table and the lighting is all wrong!

Maybe, but it hanging off the table is because he's taking a pic. We don't how his lights is set up & whatever else may be going on to alter the lighting in the room.

What else you got to prove that its "obviously fake"?

I only know one person who aggregates devices, no other friends care.
