Forum dedicated to the new portable standalone MPC, the MPC Sample.

First, I had problems updating the firmware. I put the MPC into update mode (CHOP + MUTE + SAMPLE SELECT while powering it on), connected it with a USB-C cable, launched the inMusic Software Center, and then started the MPC Sample Firmware Updater.

At first, it looked like the firmware update was starting correctly, but if I remember correctly, at step 4 I received the message "USB Accessories Disabled," and the update was interrupted.

After a few attempts, my MPC became bricked. Restarting didn't help. Every time I entered update mode, the MPC seemed to be trying to repair or update a corrupted filesystem or something similar.

Eventually, I connected the MPC through a JSAUX Steam Deck dock with an external power supply, effectively using the Steam Deck as a USB hub. That worked, and I was finally able to update the firmware.

However, when I started using Melodics for learning, my MPC began disconnecting every 30–40 seconds or every 2–3 minutes. It would stop working until I reconnected the USB cable. Restarting my laptop didn't help.

I then connected the MPC to a newer Mac with an M3 processor, and it worked much better. I no longer received the "USB Accessories Disabled" error that I was getting on my 7-year-old Intel-based MacBook Pro.

Could the developers confirm whether there are known power-related issues with Intel-based MacBooks?
