Mpc one bricked, need help urgently!

I don't what else you got going on, but if your willing to give up making music over 1 easy to replace device, then maybe that's the best thing for you. Also, if your going to truly give & you most likely won't sale your MPC in that broken state, then you might as well open it up take Dustyslices advice & check that power button & whatever else.

Yeah that’s sensible advice, I’ve been having a series of problems with electronic stuff for a while now, just fed up of it tbh. Also, fixing the power button doesn’t necessarily fix the reason why it blew, I’m really no expert though and it’s a good diagnosis, I’ve been thinking the Linux partition is corrupted but the power button makes more sense.

So I was just trying to delete my account, and instead it’s pushed this thread up to the top when I haven’t even posted anything. (The thread got pushed up before I posted this message)

deleting your account will not fix the problem...
It sounds very much like the power button, could be just dirt, could be a broken solder thing

I was just going to make a new account as I’ve posted lots of videos in the dj section, but I no longer have that YouTube account so they’ll all be dead links. Regarding the Mpc, I have a friend that’s trying to fix it, thanks for chiming in though!

Wutcha wanna do is hold down FULL LEVEL, BROWSE and PAD BANK C. and then press power on to enter "upload mode" then use your pc to flash the rom back onto the unit. Roll it back to mpc 2.xx and see if it comes back to life, it likely will then go back to 3.xx after.

It's not dead, you probably got an external draw on the usb port keeping it from getting enough power to the processor or your mpc settings is corrupt.

Do as ultros suggests I’ve had to do it numerous times , download the pc or Mac updater and put it in update mode with the suggested buttons and update from computer , works everytime no matter how dead it is.

I tried to do this already with no success, the power won’t stay active for long enough to boot into any mode (I have the original restore file from Akai). I’ll pass the info on to my friend that is trying to fix it. A few days back he mentioned the power button is doing some weird things (like it’s reversed or something like that).

sounds stupid, but its always worth to also check your power supply connection, also the connector at the power supply.

I had similr problems with a Raspberry, which used to boot by itself, and similar things like forget its inserted SD card which holds the OS. etc
(also worth checking such things, eject card, reinsert it etc, although its unlikely that its related)

I bet your power brick is screwed up. if you own a multimeter you should test its voltage.

I’ll pass these thoughts on to my friend that is trying to repair it. Faulty power supply is definitely a possibility, though currently the Mpc is in bits as it’s been taken apart.
