OPx4 plugin worth buying?

I cant try it as I already tried the demo a few years ago.

If I remember that corectly, I hadnt been impressed much back than.
But I assume I only checked the presets quickly.

But now I wonder if I should get it , kind of wanting some new sounds.
WHats your opinion on this synth?

I do have the Stage EP, Stage Piano, STudio Strings, Jura.

Don't judge a synth by its presets. OPx4 is like the deepest synth in the box. Get it!

I like the presets generally for my standalone, tend to cut through mixes nicely in the mid-high freqs. I wouldn't say the bass patches are anything to write home about compared to "real" FM synths. But also compared to other 4-Op FM synths I've owned (Yamaha DX 27/11, Digitone) I confess that I find the programming interface fairly impenetrable. And making patches on those other FM synths already felt like pulling teeth, on a good day. Someday I'll force myself to really spend some time with it I guess

but I have to wait till August anyway, (sometimes I hate to be poor)

about programming FM synths, I designed a few related things in software so its not too difficult for me by principle, but the synth seems to have a lot of parameters, which always is time consuming.

I much prefer synths that are quick to program, cause I rarely save patches.

The one synth I never use on the MPC is the ARP or what it is (LOL, I dontz even know what it is called exactly)
Its probably close to the original, but I find iit difficult soundwise
I was considering the Mini, but I think FM is something I could use more than another subtractive synth

For quick programming you can set the track & project macro knobs. Marcos is where the power of the modern MPCs really shine!
The Arp Odyssey is one of my favorites in but it could be designed better, but that's what the Macros are for. The Mini is great too.

I cannot think of any FM synth that is quick to program and doesn't have a lot of options

If you're really into options go for Serum or Pigments
