Support and discussion for all of Akai’s modern standalone MPCs including the MPC X / X SE, MPC Live 1, 2 & 3, MPC One / One+, MPC Key 37/61.
Good day.. I am using MPC key 61 with 3.9 software.. for some reason every time I try to record, when i press any of the transport buttons, sounds are triggered. I'm not sure how to fix this issue.. has anybody have a similar issue?

Is this v3.9.1 on your Key61?

On my Key61 I had v3.9, I updated to v3.9.1, reset preferences, and same as before, all of my transport buttons act/react as they should.

I’m on 3.9.1 now, I reset to factory defaults and same result..
I also noticed that when I arm a program track to record, it triggers multiple pads when I strike one pad, but it only does that when the track is armed.. I checked and nothing is grouped

I'm gonna try that too.
Did you check
MENU
PREFS
SEQUENCER
SOLO BEHAVOR
and/or
REC ARM BEHAVIOR
Does any of this happen when you start from an empty project, load a few drums and try again.
