Duplicating a keygroup breaks sample assignement?

I created a keygroup with a stride of 1 (because I can) from a VST. Then I duplicated the track.

Now the samples starting from the second octave (counting from the lowest sampled note) are off by a few notes. Strangely enough the root notes of each keygroup is still correct. Only the samples are wrong.

Anyone had the same issues?

It could have been me. I added a bunch of samples in by dragging them to the pads. Previously that did nothing to the pads, but this time the software distributed the samples across the pads.
