are the digital in and digital out on the mpc2000xl basically used as the stereo out and record ins?
because at the moment, the setup i am running consists of alot of wiring and hassle,i want to try and clean it up a bit and buy myself an external soundcard.
i usually sample from wavs that i have on the laptop,so i record from my laptop directly through the record in's on the mpc2000xl.but at the moment i dont have any monitors,so after i have all my samples i have to reconnect the mpc2000xl into my laptop through to the laptops speakers so i can hear everything.
what i was wondering is,if i bought an external usb soundcard (creative labs extigy) with a spdif in and out.would i be able to hook the mpc2000xl into the soundcard via the spdif and record from my laptop into the mpc2000xl whilst also being able to playback without having to swap hardware and wiring all the time.
i've probably confused you guys, but if anyone knows what im talking bout....i would appreciate the help......thanks
