dunno m8! first job u gotta do is some bad cable chasin. may be that simple. also if u got a ton of outboard gear/desk cables all sat on top of each other that can generate alot of unwanted hiss. Or simply live wiv it and go lo-fi!!!
If you've ruled out bad cables, connectors and user errors, it might be you have some bad RAM in your machine. Happened to me on the S5000 once, I remember...
Those are phono inputs, they are for use with turntables and as a result are "pre-amped". If you run a CD player into these inputs you are gonna get a nice loud mess.
Run the CD player into the 1/4" jack inputs - you will have to invest in an RCA 2 1/4" Jack converter.
I think that's the whole problem, I've been doing that this whole time! I get that ugly loud mess! Jues is that where you sample through? Im going to have to get those "RCA 2 1/4" cables! THANKS ALOT!!!!!!
