what if there was a sample web site that was like napster

i make kit for all mpc models and would like to set up a sample web site that works on the same kind of system napster had do you think this is a good ideal let me know your oppion on the matter cus i hate buying sample off the net and then i find that same ish when im diggin it would be nice to have a file sharing system set up lookin for cat that would like to help

I've heard of file sharing for beat makers, but something on the Napster level would be hard to do....... The ones I've heard about you had to donate samples before you could download any. That's a pretty good way to do it, otherwise people will just come through and swipe your sounds.

i got a slow connection im going to my boys house hes got comcast but you got to send back with you send we our on the honor system and a gig is a lot of sound when my libaryis only 12gig or so i like your upload befor down load ideal thanks

the best part of sampling to me is finding it myself. having a big filesharing network cheapens the digging. that'll make production boring if everything i might want is in one spot. then i wont have any interesting diggin stories...

yeah a lot of it is in the chance finding stuff you wouldn't think to look for and what catches your eye.

but the way i sample and the way the next man dose differs so no two samples are ever the same this is what sets us all apart i do my thing you do yours we can both have the same record and make two different beats i came up with this ideal when i was diggen one day cus some ish is so rare that i could look for a life time but the next cat mite have it and i mite have that rare gem he's lookin for

i like 1. finding samples my self and 2. sampling straight from vinyl.

there is a p2p sharing program called soulseek though. check that out. thats pretty much what youre talkin about.

Nicely put! not to mention,part of samplin' is bein' educated about who/what you're sampling. It's not just sampling something off the net cuz "it sounds cool!' It's not a terrible idea,but I prefer finding samples myself by digging, and havin' the record to sample.

but in a day and age powered by the all mighty dollar what we do is on its way to becoming big biz there are so many sample packs and collection out that diggin is fading purist such us loss out on money cus they way we think im just changing with the times cus they even got ads for kit on this site right in your face,MPC Multisamples,MPC DRUM

records are cheaper than sample packs and the best way to put it would be the following analogy: buying sample packs is like buying a whore you use em get instant gratification and its over. Records are more like a fine dime piece, the gift that keeps giving if you work it right. Plus do you really want someone listening to your shit saying "dude you got mellow vibes vol. 1, me too " or " Oh shyt is that crunk hats vol 6 dog you been getting your fingers dirty huh"

no one said makin music was easy. aint easy and it shouldnt be easier, if you havin trouble findin worthwhile samples - whas the problem? last time i checked the harder you gotta work for suttin the better it gonna turn out.
