loading .aps question

ok here's my problem. Ive been learning about the different type of files on the MPC2KXL. I've been loading the disc that i inhereted and loading the .aps to hear the beats that we worked on but, what i hear is not a continous loop, and alot of sounds are overlapping. Am I loading this right are should i be loading a different type of file?

Go to either the trim screen or the program screen and check your loops status is it loop on or loop loop off in the program screen if you want your sample to loop in the bottom right hand corner where it say's poly it should say note off then it should looooooooooop

ok, what this guy had going on was he was making his tracks only using 1 sequence then when we recorded he would make drops by muting sounds on the pad in realtime. I took your anvice and it is looping now but everything sounds strange...some sounds are playing everyquarter note and i dont remember watching him do anything special when he punched up his tracks to keep it from doing that. I am loading .aps files, he had no .pgm files set up. i am really confused, sorry for the lack of info on my problem, but thanks for your help.
