If you mean, can you spread one sample across the entire keyboard and still play other samples <i>in the same program</i>, then no.
The reason being that the MPC has 64 pads (16 x 4), and each one is a MIDI trigger. The keyboard has (at most) 88 keys, and each one of them is a MIDI trigger as well. So, pad A01 for example, will play the same note (not 2 of the same, but the same exact note) as key number 37 on your keyboard (not the 37th key necessarily, but key number 37) So if I had my MIDI keyboard turned on and press key number 37 I will get whatever sample is banked in A01 of the program I am currently using. So when I chromatically (or manually, for that matter) assign a sample across the keyboard, all the pads on the MPC are being used by that one sample.
But seeing as when you use the auto chromatic funtion, it makes a new program for it, you can only have one sample in the program anyway.
But now that you know that the pads correspond to certian keys on your keyboard, you can chromatically assign the sample to say, half the keyboard and use the other remaining pads for diff't samples. Actually, if you want to make it easy, use the auto function, then assign the other samples you want in the same program to the keys/pads that are on the ends of the keyboard so you still have, say 55 keys of chromatic assignment, and another 9 keys of other samples (or whatever combination you want).
