Hitting pads

Well, I use to hit pads louder when I work with headphones. I used to.

Everything works fine on my mpc2000xl, but I wanna be the carefullest as I can.

I hear a little noise when I hit the pads in the middle, a little metallic noise, I guess the metallic case is moving when I hit the pads, just a few, it comes after the vibrations made by my finger's punch.

I told myself I just had to screw back the screws on the sides of my engine... this way is logical anyway... but then I told me that this could be a "forcing" solution if all the problem wouldn't entirely come from there...

I mean that it could be an internal issue too, and I have never open my pads, and my name is not Terminator, I got cold blood, some, but not enough to risk the life of my money maker.

Cause if there is a noise, that means that it moves, if it moves, some cables in it do move too... then my mpc dies quicker than the average.

Or is this metallic noise usual to some of you hardworkers owning a 2000xl zip for 3-5-8 years? I would be satisfied if you 'd all say so.

I want my pads as tight as possible, I got my 2000xl brand new (I don't **** with 2nd hand for a 2kl xl) this summer, when I bought it the pads were as hard as the rock, so that I could imagine no velocity levels on them. But with practise I could feel the velocity coming, day after day. MPC pads are famous to be the best material existing in term of touch, velocity, and this why I got a 2000xl. But will this touch fix anyday?

I have been an mpc owner for about ten years and all of my mpcs have made that noise you are talking about it's more or less hitting the pads hard I first owned the 2000 then the 2000xl which I still own and an 1000 which I use on the go though I haven't heard the noise with the 1000 two mpcs out three has got to mean something.

You answered as quick as the light speed, thank you sir.

So you think this noise is usual. ok.

Anybody else got an advice about that issue?
