how many beats per day do you guys do?

practice makes perfect. if u can kncok out 15 a day then do it. it will only help u get ur craft better faster.

probably like 5 to 6 hundred. just bang bang bang and i'm out. crazy.

now when you people are talking about making beats are you saying you make the entire instrumental? 3 in a day?

man i work on 1 instrumental for a WEEK, and even then i never say i've finished it. maybe that's cuz 8 hours of my day get eaten up by classes but still.

i might START 3 a day, of find samples worth for 4 or 5 if i'm having a good day, but damn kids

i make an entire beat when i sit down. All the variations and ish.

I collect sounds and riffs over a period of two to three weeks then I will sit down and bang somthing out. Once I stared to sample sounds I found myself completing less tracks. When I had a sound module I would bang out three tracks at every sit down.

My last stretch of unemployment turned out to be the most productive period for me on the production side. Every morning I would wake up and just do beats until around lunch time and then go on to complete other tasks with the rest of the day.
Now that I'm selling these tracks, and my time is consumed with running my side businesses, and working full time, my perspective has changed.
All I need to do is make one beat a day, and I'm cool because they DO add up if you're consistent. I also don't trash any beats because what might not be appealing to me, might be hot to the artist that wants it. Who knows, this particular rapper/singer might want something different, I'm NOT the one buying it, so it's kinda like buying art or paintings, everyone has a different perspective.

Ever since I've gotten my Roland Fantom X6, I've been doing 3 beats a day. Before when it was just the MPC 2000XL, I would make 'em whenever I caught the feeling to make it.

are we talking about making a beat like 8 bars or the WHOLE beat intro-verse-chorus etc, recording, mixing, tweaking.... ?

which ones sound better, the ones with sound modules, or the sampled beats???

im with you.

I mean, i might get like 3 or 4 skeletons. But never finish. ANd if i sit down on like just my triton, or my mp7, i can knock out 3 easy...........but usually its just drums and bass. But my good beats. my really good beats take me 1 day per beat at least. And sometimes i work with it for a week, mixing, maybe switching or layering sounds etc.

Takes me like 3-4 days to finish 1 beat. Only because I have to go to school then I have basketball practice everyday. Every other weekend I get a free day on that day I bang out like 4-5 beats depending on if the records are working with me. Man, but some days I be listen to records for hours and nothing inspires me to sample it.

thats crazy to me

i like crafting the samples right after i chop them because i have fresh ideas then and there...and i remember why i chopped them a certain way

With my time limited from work if I do 4 a week I'm doing extremely well.
