i been tryin to get hard hitting kick sounds like in young bucks "let me in "and clipses "grinding" i was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips

yea 808's always thump. man use that eq. try playin around with frequencies around 80-100hz that could help make it thump

yeah i know.
We're talking about kicks.I like supa dry kicks that's why i said compression above all. I usually use more eq with snares.

the key is compression. get a good one and learn how to use it. eq is more for the tone and the way it sits in a mix. if u are going to use eq on a kick then use a pultec and only cut do not boost.
