Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I bought PHAT DRUMS and HIP HOP HI HATS (dope) and extracted them to my 100 mb zip disk (I loaded PHAT DRUMS 1st). THE PROBLEM IS: When I extracted the Hi Hats, I got to HH188 and could not load the rest of the 100 sounds onto the zip. Therefore, I got a 100mb zip "maxed out" at 16 mb. This has happened to me on ALL of my FUJIFILM 100mb zips. Are FUJIFILM disks f*cked up? Anyone have suggestions? I have like 6 100mb zips "maxed" @ ~20mb when I all I need is 2 of them for my sounds. Any help would be great!!

I have had this problem for some time...

I got same situation here, cept my zip tops out at 50MB. I thought the partition things was only for HD connected to MPC though. In my case, on MPC 2000(not xl) I never seen option to partition.

I formated the 100MB zips off the MPC2000 before I loaded on the sounds...... but it still keeps capping at 20MB or so..... very frustrated.. Any other ideas??

Each partition only holds about 500 files. Split up on different disks/partitions, or if using the XL, use directories.

I never once was given the option to partition the disk, or skip to the next partition.... I got the regular MPC 2000 (not XL).... All i did was dump all the files from my computer into the 100MB disk, and it loaded it until it got "full" (around 20mb)..... so how do I get rid of the "partition"??

"I never once was given the option to partition the disk"

You will always have at least one partiton. It does not matter since it still only holds 500 files.

I also said "Split up on different disks/partitions". That means you can use more than one disk. I didn't say it for nothing.

Well, I have multiple disks, I just dont want 5 disks 20% full when I could have all of them on one disk... I got a reply from IOMEGA stating I can have up to 512 files on one directory, so I need to make multiple directories and place the corresponding files under those directories.... so I guess I have to make folders and put my sounds in them??
I will see what I can do.....
Many thanks....
