I apologize if this question is retarded but I just got my MPC1000 today....

I got a 32mb card with the MPC like I'm sure everyone else did...however when I go to sample something the MPC will only give me 10 seconds of sampling time and says that my memory is 16 mb...what do I do?

Read the manual - Look for sampling/sample time.

lol, um yea obviously I did that...but I cannot find the answer to why I am only getting 10 seconds of total sampling time. how do I get the MPC to recognize the card if it doesnt already to seem to be?

you need to select the time field (how long you can record for) with your arrows. then use the grey dial to increase it.

the size of your compact flash card is completely irrelevant, unless you want to save it outside of ram. if you want more than a minute or whatever 16 mb is, then buy the 128 mb ram upgrade.

I am having the same problem. My 16mb is full. I want to know how to empty that memory, if possible. That is, the internal memory that the sample is recorded in. I looked in the manual and couldnt find anything, it doesnt say what to do once it is full.

If you haave the sounds you want, save them to an external device ie:zip drive. Then go back in and delete your sounds.Save all and aps first though.

ok

Is having them saved to the compact flash card ok? Also, where am I deleting the sounds from....In other words where do I go to delete the sounds (you can just point me to the right manual area and I can figure it out from there).

compact flash will do.Save em then go into the edit window. When you enter that window you'll already have sounds highlighted.Hit the open window and delete.Delete all-yes and then exit. You should be good to go from there.
