does your % start from 50 to 75 or can go so to 75 and 50 to 25

i live in nz and i was taught how 2 play mpc `s. sum of the most favouite musicain in my country taught me and my older brother but he dont play mpc.my tutor`s mpc had a range of 25 - 75%.he must of had the mpc 2000. not xl
