mpc and pro tools LE

I am having trouble syncing my mpc 2000xl to protools LE. I have the midi connection setup correctly, I just am confused about the configuration. it's not wiring, it software that troubling me. anyone know how to get this working? also, i've had this running before and there was some latency or something where when i hit record and play on the digi 002, it's starts recording but the mpc delays before ti plays, so i miss the beginning of tracks when recording. Also, how to I set it up to record in Beat Bar Tic instead of seconds and minutes? That would make editing so much easier.

I'm not a user of Protools but I am 'familia' with this type of problem
so..on the PROTOOLS, look for the midi timing section kinda, called 'Offset' this should be turnt up to like 26 ..27 ...or 30. then when u play on pro it should start on beat on the mpc.

I might be off a few ticks but fiddle with it and see.

Place a empty 2 bar sequence in the beginning......This will give the mpc time to sync with pro tools......

Protools has a better sequencer than any MPC really. I don't understand why people sync MPC's to Protools anyway. I use an MPC with some sound modules and a EPS-16+ for a midi trigger. Essentially, I trigger things in by hand and make my beat in Protools. Cut out the middle man and start making beats on Protools. Use the MPC as a sound engine for drums and maybe bass. You can extract tracks from CD's using Toast and import the file into the session. And if you sample from wax go direct into Protools and skip the MPC. If you are using 24-bit/48K why sample something at 16-bit/44.1 and then put it in Protools....I'll admit it takes some gettin used to, but the sound quality and flexibility is much better........
