MPC! Please talk back to me!

Alright, I'm at my wit's end!
I need help with my midi playback.
It goes as follows:

1) I'm running the Mpc1000 as the master

2) The triton as the slave (with midi cables out and in of one another)
3) 1/4 inch audios from both devices going into digi002 (left and right)
4) then into computer through firewire. (out to monitors)

I'm able to record my triton sounds from the pads on the mpc and hear playback, yet, cannot do the same hitting the triton keys.
Do I need to get a seperate sound module to connect the midi out of my Mpc into? ( as in page4 of the manual )

calm down its easy to sort out, i just cant remember the settings, which is no help to you, but my keyboard guy is coming down today so i will find it then.

i remember that u have to turn LOCAL ON i think.

Hey Penfold! It's really good to hear from you. My problem has been going on for almost 2 1/2 weeks. I hope that you could help me find some kind of resolution to this headache. It's something about this particular mpc thats different.

have you tried setting up the midi channels? I have an MPC 4000 which is controlled by an Alesis QS6.2 and the My 4000 controls a Triton Studio and My Roland Fantom X, and My Alesis Andromeda all going into a MOTU 2408 and then into Logic Pro. I kind of had the same problem. Here's what you do use the MPC OUT going into the Triton IN and Stop there(for instance set the Triton to Midi channel 1, do the same to the 1000 for the controller function), once you are there go into the Triton's Sequencer and pick your sounds. then go back to the MPC and choose a track the next step is to choose a the device which you want to control. Next you pick the channel which you want to control(you get 16). This will hopefully help you sort things out. Peace.

I tried doing that, and still am not able to record hitting the triton keys.
The out of the triton has to be connected to the in of the mpc in order for the mp to read the sent midi signals from the triton, right?

midi out triton -> midi in MPC
mpc midi out -> triton midi in
In triton set local to OFF.

Now you will be able to play sounds of the triton via the pads and sounds of the mpc via triton keys depending opn what type you set the sequencer track (Drum or MIDI)

Alright, this is what I'm trying to get out of this that isn't working:

I want to be able to play the triton (slave), recording from mpc1000 (master), and hear playback. And that is the only thing I'm not able to do.

Don't own a Triton but when I play my keys, recording into the 1000 set the keys to LOCAL ON.

Forget about the IN on the MPC unplug it see what happens

Alright, let me ask this question.

I have a finished product ready for burning and don't know how to go about burning the cd. I'm using the 002 rack and g5. Is there anyone who knows what my next move will be?

Also, I once was directed on synchronizing the 002 to the chosen device and can't seem to remember what I did. What I do remember is taking
the midi out cable from the 002 and putting it into the midi in of the device. But there was something else I did in pro tools that sync'd it. Anyone?

you probably have to bounce to one buss or make a single wave file then import it into your mastering suite and the F around with it until you get it to sound how you want it. Then make another wave fie or convert it into an mp3 if you want then burn. As far as the other ish I can't help you. hey by the way did unplugin the in on the MPC work let me know. Peace

no it didn't, but only because the mpc1000 was not made to do the same as the mpc2000, and 2000xl. It was made to just sample sounds from the pads, and what I wanted to do was play my triton keys, and hear the playback.
