fx 2 selection

is it possible to select a range in the trim or region window and apply some fx to that selection of the wav?


for example i have a drumloop and want some distortion on the third beat. How to handle this?
what i do now is I select the range, xtract it, put it on a pad and silence the extracted sound in the original wav. and i sequence the extracted third beat on the silenced place.

or with aksys and pc audio editor.

I using use aksys and peak 4 and just highlight the area and add effects.

I think the easiest way would be to do what your are already doing ikke, since we can't apply FX to a selected zone,...

so once the zone's are all chopped up, you can apply whatever you want to each sample/pad/zone

another way would be to use the q link seq to only turn fx on that beat then resample,..

Couldn't you simply apply automation?

you can also do this in the 'Sample' trim window. just hit 'Q-FX' and decided you want to use the 'Command' effects or turn the jogwheel to 'FX', and this will apply through resampling. you can also do this by chopping into slices and apply to specific regions.

automation wound be cool because you can fly in and out of on/off. but resampling is nice too because you can have multiple varitions based upon your original sample.

i'd just play around and see what works best.

you can do this easily with Akaisys, but you really don't know to go through all of that unless your just not happy with the distortion/compression that you're getting out of the Akai Effects board.
