new mpc 4000 user

Just got a mpc 4000 plus ,80GB,1.45 pre installed.I had this for three days and Im already sequencing tracks and songs.It took me two days to figure this thing out,thinkin it was gonna take a month.....listen to what people had to say about it.I havent had 1 problem so far...it works flawlessly.Maybe some people are dumber then most : Yeah I used a 2000 since 98,but this is the best thing I bought in my intire life!And I have lots of sh*t.Also,somebody said you cant controll more then 1 external midi device...thats BS!I have 3 modules midi'D up to the 4000 ,and they alll sequence perfecly...a,b...and C.

Yo, you said you got 3 modules midi'd up, that's good. I got a question, you set the channels right, then you lay a pattern down, then some strings on it, then whatever, right. Is it me or what, but you cant use the Q-Link Controls on the modules's sounds right? Another thing, do you know how to sample a sequence from a seperate module to the 4k? What plugs would you use? WOW, I look up to you work'n with 3 modules!, I got the 4k and an MP-7 and using both of them kind of get in my creatvive way. But you use all 3 modules midi'd up, saving it all must be some s**t, then to turn on all the machines on again, you got to go to all the machines right corresponding channels, right? Do you got any sounds in the 4k?

You can control anyhting from the Q-link....
I control all my Pro Tools Mixers and Knobs from the MPC.
I Control my Tritons knobs from the MPC.
I control Reason from the mpc
I control ASR 10 from MPC...


All the q-link is, is MIDI...Its just sending midi messages to the Internal MPC sequencer...So why can you control the other modules??? They work from MIDI....
All you have to do is find out what midi sysex controls which knobs etc..
You can control everything you control from the MPC on any Other sound MODULE...

EX...

Go to q-link setup
You will be in the recieve screen
Switch to the Send screen F2
Now is says transmit q-event..
on every q-link
Change q Event to Ctrl CHANGE
now where it says ctrl. 0
Change it to
Cntrl. 7
Usually 7 -8 control volume...
And
Make sure your connected in the MAIN screen to
OUT-A OUT-B
Whatever your midi module is connected too....
Then when in the Main screen..
The Q-link knob or slider you changed will control the VOLUME..


thats how you do it..

Man thanx..I have a mo'phatt,asr 10 and reason midi'd up to my 4000.I had know idea I could control them in this fashion.I only had mine for a week though...thanx again.

Aight,my bad....chill.First I run a midi cable from the module's midi in to the 4000 midi out.In the main screen select the proper midi channel(A,B,C or D.Sequence what you want.Run the main outputs of the module into the 4000's line-in or spdif(always use digital if you can)Go to record, hit play,you should be able to hear the module....make sure you selected the right input source at the top of the record screen.Hit record,recording the modules sequenced part,press stop,assign to a progam/pad.then resequence that loop or what ever you sampled from the moudle.You might wannna edit it first....this is how I do it

I ask cuz I'm in da Yay area in Cali and need to link up with someone like yerself who might be willing to help a brotha out.

Me and my homie recently produced a number of tracks on the regular MPC 4000 only to find out that it didn't have 8 separate outs and thus transfering our tracks to pro tools would require way too much time and work if the tracks are to be separated for mixing. So, if yer in da area, and would like to make some easy loot, hit me up and we'll pay you to link up with us at the studio for an afternoon using using your MPC to load our backup disks and transfer them.

Not to be knocking anybodys hustle,but why dont you just buy the outputs. They are only about $300.00,and you can put them in yourself.
