Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So what's up with the new OS. My cardreader works fine with 1.11. And someone else uses 1.14 also without troubles.

Does 1.20 solve some compatiblity problems with certain readers?

definite props that will help a shitload of people

very clear and helpful, great work

i did the same as you except i used a terminal block to join the power leads, and manged to break the data slider when i flipped the mpc over :<

i went for 1.20 from the start though because i had it and didnt want to have to reverse the process just to update the os afterwards

I could add some extra info/tips. The tape part could be better indeed :)

Sorry for my late reply. I have to looked at this forum for a long time.

I can read some German. Enough to understand. You could go to http://shop.vv-computer.de/allgemeines/kontakt/

And tell them you ca'n't read german and want to order:
article number 370666 http://shop.vv-computer.de/shop/info/370666

They will answer in english.

Just installed the same multi-card reader. I updated first to OS 1.20

However, it didn't work the first time. When I turned on my MPC2000xl, all lights went on and I just got a blank screen. After re-connecting the power cable and IDE cable of the multi-card reader, it worked without problems...

I do have some extra tips:
- Use some air cushions to place the MPC on in order to avoid damage to the slider and data wheel.
- Be very very gentle when connecting the IDE cable to the motherboard.
- Check the jumper setting of the multi-card reader because it must be MASTER.

And now I'm gonna get rid of my ZIP stuff and buy me some cheapo USB 2.0 multi-card reader for my PC :-)

It did work fine for me. I had no problems with removing and inserting the ide or power cable. The default jumper setting was also good.

P.s. You might notice that loading wav files go slower. If you use .snd instead it goes much much faster.

I bought this one for 24 euro.

Be sure to use this link, because I found the same reader in the same shop, with the same article number also for 39 euro???

what would be the advantage of replacing this from my zip?
