Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Is there anyone out there that knows if I can use the same internal zip installation for the mpc, on the triton. Power cable and all?? Or is the Triton internally to different?

I didn't see an IDE/ATAPI connection on my triton classic motherboard (same connection that is in the 2kxl).

The Extreme, I don't know.

Yeah, I am a member of the forum at Triton Haven, and I checked on this topic a few days ago.

Really never found anything on an actual ZIP DRIVE INSTALL.

The installation with the least hassle sounds like, and internal hard drive.

With the help of this adapter, http://www.musitronics.de/info-e/TritionHD_info_e.html
and a laptop, HD.

I am too :D and have come up with the same conclusion as you have.
I haven't done it though and I doubt I ever will now that I got the Extreme.

With my old Triton Classic I was really looking into it though.

yeah. IVe been a member there for a long ass time.

But, i guess i never checked. The only 2 tritons i ever owned, are the triton le, and now the triton studio..........so i guess i lucked out.

Good luck.

wait...........hmmm. Does the newset OS for the classic triton support a scsi-to-usb adapter??? cuase i know you can do this with the triton studio. Maybe this is another option.

I gotta say though, im using an external hardive with my mpc........and im lovin it ....................mcdonalds.

I got the 4.1 GB External SCSI HD/CD-Rom combo drive.

You are right, gentlemen, tis lovely.

Eff a Zip disk, a card reader, and a floppy.

If only I could bribe mpc3000 to wedge my HD inside the MPC and make it internal, so I wouldnt have to carry this huge brick of a drive with me when I play live.

That would be the tits.

too bad theres no support for a scsi-to-usb adapter. cause usb hardrives are pretty damn small.

I think it would awesome if akai released some new OS updates for the 3000, 2000, etc. As opposed to comming out with a new MPC (if they ever do) Probably some hardware limitations though, that we would be unaware of.

wishful thinking.

mpc3k "member" has stated in the past that he has had a scsi to usb adapter working just fine on an mpc. Just do a search and find his posts. He's stated that a million and one times.

I use my 4.5 scsi hd and scsi cdrom for my 2kxl.
