If I had that kind of cash, I'd do some real entertainment and give away the gear in question to somebody in the audience... this burning of gear is just pathetic!

It's Richard devine, no? I like his music quite a bit...However, I've got to admit being somewhat dismayed to hear about that stunt....Simply because I am still paying off my mpc4000 after 2 years of owning it, and have sold about $1500 worht of gear to make rent over the past year... On the other hand, I always thought the same thing about smashing guitars....Nice symbolic gesture or what not, but I remember wanting an electric guitar and not being able to afford one, and having a casio sk1 and a distortion pedal as my "main rig".
Regardless, his music is awesome...and I suppose smashing things is fun.
