Newbie bible in book form. Interested?

Hi folks,

I have plans to convert the info from the (Newbie) Bible thread to a better readable form. The result will be a searchable document in both online HTML and downloadable PDF formats. I could even add an index and table of contents. I wrote the RS7000 faq before, so this isn't really new to me.

I will update the document at regular intervals, when new articles are added to the Bible thread.

Any of you interested, or do you prefer the thread format?

Sounds like a great idea.. Pdf especially, then people could print it

the only thing i would suggest is that some of the tips be layed out a little more clearly or explained better. it's kind of a mess running through that thing now, so implementing an index plus having it as a PDF where one can quickly search through should help.

it'd be nice if we took the bible and added some of the 'basics' to it. like a quick start guide. we get so many newbies or people who just got the machine and are baffled from the get-go. i have some ideas if you're interested in adding a quickstart guide, including terms and basic how-to's (sampling, sequencing, menu's/submenu's, midi'ing and such). does anyone no how Akai would feel if you used and/or copied some of their printed data to use with a guide, and maybe 'we' could elaborate on their material. possibly add in some of the Z8 materials, addendums as well.

i don't know just thoughts. this may be more than Rob wants to do but i'd be glad to help gather and/or work on this. i'm sure others would as well.

ps i know a guy how has written some tutorials and guides for other mpc's who 'might' be cool with us using some of his guide material. obviously just the stuff that applies.
