computer software w/mpc 60 II

I have a MPC 60 II and I just bought a PC for recording.

I have no experience recording/mixing tracks and I was just wondering what would be the best software to start with (and which to later upgrade to)

I was thinking eighter Cubase SE or Cakewalk Home Producer to start with, then either Cubase SX or Cakewalk Sonar once I got the skills and cash (or possibly Protools at that point)

What is the best route?

Whatever you choose, it will be a long road ahead to learn everything you will want to know, I would sayn get the cut down version of Cubase to start, is it Cubase SE? something not to expensive but with good multitrack options. I would choose cubase over cakewalk.

Try them out at a store and see which one you like best and is less confusing to you.

does that cubase se come with the interface for 8 in from the mpc??

SE doesn't come with an interface, Steinberg Nuendo partnered for a while with RME, which is the best I've heard. but you need to get them separately.
