mpc 60 ps2 and serial cable through edirol pcr 50 to usb ?
I got an mpc 60 but the midi cable I have is a serial and ps2 cable [these are connected i cannot separate the serial part from the ps2 part]. I can't tell from the cable w/o splitting it open if the ps2 signals go from ps2 to ps2 or might get lost in the serial part. If I have the mpc 60 going through edirol pcr 50 the mpc 60 should be set to master? I do wish to sequence from the mpc 60 via midi messages recorded in the mpc 60's sequencer. I gotta have that mpc 60 groove.
How will reason or cubase recognize the hardware? Will it see that the mpc 60 is sending midi through the edirol but not recognize an mpc 60? How about cubase sx to control vsti's?
Basically I want all my midi messages to be on the 60 and i want the 60's sequencer to be broadcasting the tune via midi . Then once I get a sequence I wish to convert all sounds to wav files and master?
