I'm tired of..

..gettin' back in my home from diggin' and find wack-only music to sample!! Most of the times i buy 30 vinyls at once,the most of them i know what's about and i'm sure for the success but i'm buying also records that i don't,only from the linear notes or the instruments that have been used into.I'm about to buy the Vestax portable turntable,i think it will gonna save my life..

I have the Vestax and i never take it out with me.I only pay like .25-.50 an album so it's not gonna hurt if i can't use every album.But more often then not you can use somethin' a hat a kick or something.

I'm with you Lecter. I'm either gonna get a portable or start using my shops listening station. Which I should have been doing all along...

get the numark pt 01...its cheaper...

Yo, I'm about to start diggin' for samples. I was thinking about copping that Numark PT-01 joint. I've been doing some research, but need to know if the cartridge comes with it, and if so, is it good enough. I'm not really using it for scratching, only to lift samples. I have an MPC1000 and a Motif ES. Is this Numark a good buy, or should I buy a more expensive turntable for some reason?

Oh man!!! Last month I started a topic like this too. I hate when I but sh*t that I can't use!!! A protable turntable is probably the best thing to buy. The only problem is, at the same time I want to buy two turntables for mixing/scratching.

the numark pt 01 comes with a cartridge...a damn good one. the entire thing is solid. its worth every penny.
if all you wanna do is lift samples, its perfect for you.
thats the only table i have (times is hard, man....) and i love the damn thing.

Yes a portable is definately the way to go. I haven't been using mine lately, but I need to as I've just been eyeing records lately, and having 50/50 success.

Also listening to a record once you may not hear something the first time. I've found stuff on records after listening to them 5 times and even stuff I heard the first time, but didn't think, oh I can chop that. So don't give up too soon.

I think it was the Alchemist who was talking about records once saying if he was stuck on an island with only one record to sample from he'd have to find something on it to make it work. So keep your ears open...
