Is it possible to replace floppy in mpc 2000 and place there an internal zip drive? would be then normal ide zip or scsi zip?

It is possible, but is very an expensive and risky operation an can only be done by a trained person in electronics.

Look on this site for the tutorial showing you how to do the floppy to zip exchange. I found it to be very easy. BTW go with the IDE zip.

only works on the 2000xl mane. just cop one of them there scsi jiddoints mane.

2 choices.
1. Get an adapter cable that changes from floppy to ZIP.
2. Get a zip drive for your computer.
There is no conenction for an internal zip on the 2k motherboard.
I've tried to change my friends 2k and it was no internal connection for the zip, so I left it alone.
I've changed out my 2kxl because there is a connection for an internal IDE drive which is a ZIP connection.. The motherboard on 2kxl is different than 2k. It's more robust.

Huh? This I would like to see. In my years of computer architecture experience, I have never seen one of these.

I ran across it on the net about a month ago. There were pics of an ASR10 and Triton 61key classic modded/fitted with 100mb zip drives. The close up pics seem to have the floppy cable from the motherboard going into a small adapter then IDE cable to a ZIP drive. I never saved the link though. I'm lookin for it again. I also have never heard of this adapter either until I saw that. But then again I could be mistaken and I can't trust everything I read. Maybe I'm just wishing too dam hard..
