Fist time mpc buyer/user.....what should i get??

i'm interested in buying an mpc to give sampling and beat making and shot, primarily sampling. what is recommended?

Any mpc is solid.It just depends on your budget/space and other gear you want to incorporate into your setup.I rock the 2k and love it.THe xl has a few more features but nothing that can't be done with software ie.timestretch.Budget is the most important thing because this is an expensive "hobby' and there are alot of extras to think about.computer/mixer/mic/vinyl/synths/keyboard.Good luck.

Stryke is on point there; it is an expensive hobby for most of the cats posting here although some of them are definately ready to compete with the big names out there. So basically go by the buget i'd say. If you only want to expermient a bit with sampling and sequencing and see if you like this whole 'beatmaking' game then I'd advice you to first start with some simple tracker software like renoise or fasttracker. You can download a free copy of it so it won't cost you a thing. If you like it then you can always invest money afterwards in a hardware setup.
