What you need to buy are things that YOU have to judge for yourself to fit your production needs you feel?

hitsquad.com has alot of free, demo and shareware that you can try out before you make big software purchases.

What you buy depends on alot of different stuff, ie, are you a hardware and/or software type of cat? That will play a BIG part in what you need and buy.

I use Audition which is the new name for cool edit now Adobe got their hands on it. Id say i use it mostly for editing my sounds.. the editing features ROCK THA HOUSE, i love it. Its also got a pretty good multitrack recorder but havent messed to much with that as yet.. Not up to any standard to be multitracking my s*** as yet.
But yeah id definitely recommend it as an editing tool..
