how sensative are yor pads?

how have to kinda bang on them to get me sounds. no tapping.
and sumtimes when i dont bang hard enuff i get double the sound beeing played. i reccon the pads r shit.

Once you break those pads in, you won't have that problem anymore!

Turn the sensitivity up or use full level.
Check the manual.

yeah the 60/3000 pads are way better.
i had the same problem when i just got my mpc4k. I was the third owner and the pads werent played yet cause I had to bang them real hard, but after some months of banging those pads, they feel much better. I dont have the problem with the sound playing double anymore.

^^^^co sign.............the mpc2xl pads are better too. Maybe just cause mines new........but I noticed the same deal.

Yo the double trigger is no problem!!!!!
this was my exact post when I first got my 4k coming from an E-mu XL-7.
But yeah like all these guys said, break em in!!! after a while they just feel normal and you can stop using the full level feature.
As for the double trigger, it only happens when you hit the pad with a flat finger and actually leave your finger on the pad for a little longer than: Just 'striking' it with the point of your finger and taking it off straight away.
You can use this to your advantage like a drummer, with hats, snare and even for metal double kick patterns...
Its hard to explain why in writing but I love the mpc pads, better than the Xl-7's or playing drums on a keyboard....

I have no problems with the pads coming from the 2xl to the 4k. But I learned to hit the pads from different angles and edges to change my feel of velocity. And make sure you go into the program modulation matrix and turn off tilt velocity, and check the other settings for velocity within the program you are using.



Even guitar has a different feel just like every mpc will too.
