New O.S 1.2

After I installed new O.S. my internal zip drive is not working properly. It can't read any file on my zip disk. Please help me how to solve the problem. I need to replace my old O.S. but, i don't have any access to replace my old one since my zip does not working.

External SCSI Zip? Try and get access to one

Or................Replace the zip with a floppy if you still have it (Bit of a hassle , but if it means getting your MPC to breath again....Hmmm)

You could also try to put the old version of the os on a zip and to boot the os from the zip via your internal drive. In this thread mpc3000 explains how to boot your 2Kxl from a disk instead of the boot rom :

It seems you have to insert the disk with the old os in the drive and turn the MPC on while keeping the play key pressed.

Save Bin file onto zip (you need zip drive in your PC )

Put zip in MPC

I haven't seen nothing different. All a big hype IMO.

I had an internal 250 zip. I upgraded to the newer 1.20. My internal zip didn't recognize anything anymore, wouldn't even work correctly for that matter.

I opened up my MPC, took out the zip, replaced with my old floppy drive, reloaded the oldie but goldy 1.14, turned off the mpc, took out the floppy drive and put my 250 internal zip back in. Worked just fine again. I was once again happy. Recently, replaced my internl 250 zip with a CF reader (thanks to P-Dizzle pt3r) and I'm still fine, runnin OS 1.14.

None that I have found. It is not good practice to arbitrarily update the OS unless it fixes a specific problem you are having. This is especially true for an OS that does not add any new features.

I have no sympathy for people breaking their MPC this way. These are probably the same people that have their version of windows automatically download and install updates. Egad.

What about zip internal 100, not 250? is it working good with new OS 1.2?

Why even update for a zip drive, I did it because I was about to install the card reader and wanted to know if it would work. I already knew what to do if it didn't work so I wasn't stressing. I'm sticking with 1.14 which I should have just stayed with in the beginning. You need to get hold of an old pc floppy drive, connect it and put your 1.14 back into effect and stay with that.

I know what you mean, I should have just ran with my already installed 1.14 and did the CF thing. At least I already had a plan B, exactly why I keep my floppy drive in the closet though.

Anyone know if the OS upgrade fixes the "Error at 0000:BFF2" problem with zip drives?

That error has nothing to do with the os but is related to a broken zip drive. I had the same error code, it turned out my zip drive needed to be replaced.
