iight class i got the Midisport 2x2 but im still having trouble syncing to cubase. In "Sync Setup", I have the Timecode Source to "midi timecode". I Have the Machine Control to "None". I Have the Midi Machine Control Settings Midi Output to "Out-A USB MidiSport 2x2''. I have the Midi Input to ''None" because i have the midi out of my Midiman2x2 going into the "Input 2" of my Mpc. Where it says Midi Timecode, i have it as Out-A Usb Midisport 2x2. And the same for Midi Clock. All of that seems to be the same as you have it but when i press play, the shit still dont play lol :? Any suggestions man, I'm trynna get this setup

1, On your MPC are u making sure ur editing the sync options for MIDI input 2 (not 1) the defualt screen is one and u have to select input 2

2. Is your sync option online in cubase. Go to tranport->sync online. Make sure that option is checked(short cut it T)

3. Make sure the tempo option is fixed, ALso make sure the BPM in cubase matches the MPC

U have to understand there were alot of little things i left out of the cubase video due to time, u really have to dig inthere and figure out the options.
Those first couple should get u started.

If that dosent workm check ur MIDI thru options on your MIDI interface, since i dont have one u will have to research

Ive managed to Master my Cubase and make my MPC1000 Its slave. So when I hit Play it plays. When I hit stop it stops. When I hit record, the mpc plays but nothing is recording. I also have audio cables going into my mixer and sound. How can I get this to record my tracks?

Sounds like ur audio signal isent making it threw, start from there, check your audio settings. In cubase and ur mixer and soundcard settings. Do u have the right soundcard driver selected in cubase??/

Again im not hear to answer "techninal" questions u gotta figure out that stuff on your own. its pretty straight foward trouble shooting

See man,

No offense to u,

but i think thats the problem with alot of cats on here, the post questions and stuff before they even "try" and trouble shoot the problem. U shouldnet post unless u have spend a signaficant amount of time really trying to work something out..

Im tired of all these basic PM's i dont have a problem helping cats out but u gotta help yourself first

i got the exact problem...it works for a sec in the main screen...then stops. As far as the trouble shooting goes, i've explored all possible tweeks/combinations in sync setup for the mpc & cubase. Still no sync...very strange...btw, sync says 'idle' in red, is this normal? help!

good looking on that class... too bad it took me about 2 months are grinding and trying shit otut o get my setup like that lol.....

i find it more rewarding if u put the effort in to find it otu yourself..... but this post was still helpful.... what are your feeling on the motif rack? I have a mophatt and its coo but I try not to use it for everybeat for the simple fact that it would sound similar.... are the sounds in the motif rack good?

Imma go to guitar center right no was a matter of fact and mess around....

just wanted to say thanks for the vid clips.... peace

that tutorial video is dope.

but i ran into a few problems and im not too sure where to post so i figured i'd post here before making a new thread about this:

class: you mentioned that cubase and the mpc should be matching in BPM. Whenever I do that though, the audio being recorded into cubase seems to be exactly 6bpm faster for each 'track' that I do.

What I did was lower the BPM in Cubase by 6 for each track (If the project i'm working on is 90bpm on the mPC, i'd have it at 84 in cubase). This guaranteed a 'perfect' sync each and every time.

The problem however, is when i use 'audio mixdown' in Cubase SE. The exported wav or AIFF file plays at a slower BPM than the project in Cubase. I'm not sure if it is exactly 6bpm slower but it is highly likely.

what the hell is causing this?!?.
if anyone ran into the same problem...PM me.
