Cut On mpc and Sample with Triton

What's up everybody, I'm trying to Cut my samples on the Mpc and then sample them into my Triton.. I'm straight on the mpc part, but i need to sample it into the Triton, i know it's more of a question about my triton , but i'm just curious for the people that use both. I would do it midi but my mixer is **** up, and i havn't really tried to do it all on the triton. I'm asuming that i need my output into the triton input but i don't know which one, and what i should put as the settings. If anybody knows anything about it, help me out!!

You can't sample audio via midi.

mpc main out to triton in.

I don't remember the classic triton sample setup cause I rarely used it.
I have the extreme now though and the sample screen is a little different. Which Triton do you have?

I got the Extreme too, i know i can't sample via midi i was saying i would just use the keyboard via midi with the mpc but my mixer is **** up so i can't put the outputs of both into one so i can hear them together. I got the EXTREME though.

On the back of the MPC main out

to

Extreme - Audio Input 1 and 2
level knob maybe halfway to max
mic/line switch to line

Go to Sampling Mode *default settings when you turn on Triton*
Input 1 L/R, Level 127, Pan L000, Analog, Bus = L/R
Send1 MFX1 000, Send2 MFX2 000

Input 2 L/R, Level 127, Pan R127, Analog, Bus = L/R
Send1 MFX1 000, Send2 MFX2 000

Source Bus L/R, Trigger - whatever you want to trigger from.

Save to RAM or Media (CF) your choice, STEREO (because you have left and right invovled on audio inputs.
You should be hearing incoming sound from MPC after all this is setup.

Hit the sampling record button all the way on the right of the keyboard
You WILL NOT see the level meters jump until you hit that button. Now you should be hearing sound as well as seeing the level meters jump.

What MPC do you have?
And what media do you use with that MPC?
floppy. zip. usb. what?

I ask cause there might be an easier way to do this via pc if you want to do it that way. some peeps don't want to involve the pc but if you have it and it can be easier why not explore that option, you might become comfortable with it.

Apply some effect like the tube preamp or resample with it.
I'm very curious about this little thing on the extreme.
What do you think about it?

2000 xl. So once i sample in the sampling mode , can i take that into the sequence mode? I want to be able to put the samples as tracks, each sample being it's on track and then just Add tracks onto that.
Track 1 will be my sample and i'll loop it every 4 measures
then add drums on track 2. I'm still not sure if i want to do this if i have to sample in Sequence mode or if i can just move the sample after sampling it in sample mode. Sorry it's kind of a confusin question

When you sample you need to place that sample in a program.
In the main menu, assign that progam to a track.
Afterwards you'll be able to do exactly what you said you wanted to do.
I do it all the time and have walked a couple of my friends through it when I went to visit them.

When reading the manual though, push those same buttons on the triton to see what happens and where it takes you so you'll know.

how come you dont just sample straight into the triton to begin with?

i'd just use the mpc for sampling. and sequence the korg via midi.
