Newbie Question??on S3000XL????

I know it is a sampler , but what all it do ? is it like the other sound moduals like the MOTIF rack, TRITON rack, or FANTON rack ...Is the S3000XL does more or less than the other racks ?? Can someone on here explain?????Is it worth getting???

listen an s3000 is a sampler. it is not a soundmodule. it can be used as one but thats just a waste. u would use it to sample sounds and build instruments. like sample some drums, sample some bass, sample some keys, etc. the sound mods u are talking about come with presets that are tweakable. but u are kind of confined to what the presets are, u can do anything u can think of wiht a sampler, its like a blank pallete while, a sound mod is paint by numbers. U can buy sample cds for it thouhg in akai format, like keys or bass or whatever. So it comes down to what u need it for. If u want to make ur own sounds and programs or sample records, get a sampler, If u want a set of stock sounds, get a sound mod.
