Yeah defo, I just have to work how to do that first. I have heard you need a program like soundforge to record into the computer then I suppose from there you could save the file then send it via email as an attachment. But I would need a soundcard on the pc with inputs (phono). Though a friend of mine said you can record through the headphone jack on the pc using a mini disk.

How do you do it greg? Whats the easiest way?

i just use soundforge- dead easy- open a new file press record- set the source to the input of your soundcard and take the main outs of your mixer into the inputs of your sound card- voila!

Could you do a mix tape like that? Abviously not on tape though.

It almost sounds too easy! A friend of mine has a soundblaster card for sale 20 notes. I think I'll get it.

Another question you might know the answer to is can a real player burn to cd?

I ask as I have a cd burner on my pc and I downloaded a real player from the web. The real player has an option to burn to cd, so I was thinking I could record my songs or mixes into soundforge then export to the real player and burn to cd.

What do you think?

you can burn to cd with soundforge- id use that rather than real player- but yeah i spose if you djed you could put your mixer outputs into your soundblaster (which one btw?-1024 for £20- go for it!!) and record your set- make sure you turn off all non needed programs- no screensavers, nothing that peroidically connects to the net- if your recording gets interupted it will digitally glitch- soooooooooooo annoying! also look at the bottom right of the sound forge recording screen to see how much disk space is available- with small hardrives you may only have a few minutes- with bigger a couple of hours...

I'll get back to you on the soundblaster the guy is not at work today.

I'm going to need a good old sized phono lead as the pc is in the next room 6-7metres should do it!

I do have copy of soundforge but it's from about 8 years ago or something. Good thing though my dad lives in China so he will send me all the software I need.

not a prob...the only way i ever learned was through the kindness of strangers- karma...

if its just recording your old version of sf will do it mate....so get him to send some nice wimmen over instead...
