How's Ableton Live working with your MPC?

I think I saw a few people in here about using Live with there MPC. What do you guys sequence on? When you sequence on the MPC, do you lose any functions in Live? Can you still sequence VSTI's? I don't think I could program drums without the randomize feature on Live. I do love the sequencer feel on the MPC though.

Trust me, drums have been programmed way before any randomized features showed
up in Live



But what does the Randomize feature do?

You don't have to lose anything. Plug the INs and OUTs from MPC to Live and back. And the MPC can sequence Live and Live can sequence the MPC. If you have a MOTU 8x8 type of card like, I do and the MPC and Live can hit any of my external equipment.


I tend to like to use the MPC's pads to trigger Live Audio Loops but that's just me. I don't use too many VSTi's as I have my external hardware synths. Until they make Analog VSTI's (Waldorf Tried with the AFB 16 but they went out of business and nobody else has tried to hook up any Analogs Filters into their VSTi's), I'll just stick with my hardware synths...

yeh everything works well with the mpc. as long as it has audio and midi features and some clock for syncing it all up.

Sounds good...I want my MPC back. I really like Live except for the sequencer. I could live with it though. I think maybe I am just in that "gotta have that" mode right now. Oh and the randomize feature...

It's just our old Renegade Rhythms logo (the Production Company that I co-own).

Our web page has a white background, so it shows up a bit better...

but it wil probably change soon, as soon as I get the new logo back from design artists.
