Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ey I got a problem with my MPC 2000 pads. 5 of the pads don't work anymore. So I opened my MPC and the connection wasn't very good. When I touch the connection some of the pads do work. I was wondering if there is some part missing that holds the cable in it's right position.

I took some photo's from the connection. Does someone know of there is missing a part on the connection? Thanks in advance!

If your COMPETANT at this type of thing then I suggest that you find the pasds that dont work then follow the circuit to see if there are any breaks in the connection and fiddle with them see if they work if you apply pressure, this is just testing out if its a broken link.
The connector would also need this procedure done to it also, but with a current meter of some sort to see if the connection is liev when u press the pad. if there is no current then something is wrong and u need to se why no current is going through the circuit.

to be honest send it to a authorised AKAI REPAIR SHOP.

The pad assembly is not repairable. If a pad stops working then you just have to cough up the $200 to fix them (the MPC1000 can have individual pads fixed, har har).

BTW, a multimeter is not going to do any good due to the type of signal involved.

that part is on backorder expect 4-6 months and 200-400 depending where you go.

"that part is on backorder expect 4-6 months and 200-400 depending where you go."

You aren't referring to the US are you? I just ordered one two weeks ago, got it last week and repaired an MPC2000 with it. It is possible, but I cannot see the supply changing that abruptly.

i respect what you saying, i had 2 MPC with that problem and got them repaired, VST took 2 months to fix @ 150.00 plus shipping, and EPR charged me 405.00 for the same thing, i just ran across another pad busted MPC 2000 for 75 dollars and i called several chops and they stated the part is on Backorder coming from overseas. i dont care whats the repair cost " These are MPC" i could drop a million in repairs, mentally be satisfy for just the brand, it just the waitng period for backorders. I never give people wrong info, these are facts, that were stated to me, and im going by that, and i experience the wait like others, like i said "expect".if you got pull like that, then help me out, i need the pad assembly, and my bo\y needs an IC Conductor.

"they stated the part is on Backorder coming from overseas"

Sounds like a problem with the repair center. My local repair shop keeps spares on hand even. Heck, I even keep spares since I do many repairs.

"i experience the wait like others"

Sorry, haven't had a problem with the new distributors. I might suspect that shops are just saying that it takes that long.
