Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Hi,
I just bought an MPC4000 from E-bay. Comes with the analogue expansion board but no hard drive or CDRW and only 16Mb memory.
As an AKAI DPS24 user, I've got suitable drives and CDRW's (I think, -what is the maximum size drive anyone has fitted to their MPC)), so just have to watch out for memory.

I'm watching this memory on E-bay at the moment....will it be OK?

There is no library with this MPC, but I've got quite a lot of EMU E4 stuff, and some AKAI CD's as well, so I should be OK for the time being.

Any other suggestions/tips anyone can give me.

Cheers,

Al

Just buy proper new memory from a reputable manufacturer like Crucial or Corsair or someone -
it's really not that expensive, and it will be most likely more reliable...

who knows who electrostatic damage could've been inflicted to some sticks off Ebay....
