Module Hook-up

Hey guys,

This is my problem I need to know how to hook up my emu module, yamaha module, roland keyboard and mpc2000xl. But I use a midi keyboard as a controller so I know I need to keep one of the MPC ins open.
I also dont know if I should change the internal setting to omni etc.

It was easy with just 2 modules but now my rig expanded.

yea man i know the feelings. my setup just expanded too and i had the same troubles. i think what will help you is understanding midi

also try using search in this site. im sure you'll find your answer....but use a web search and look up MIDI and read about it. it will help. some people have diagrams on how to use MIDI thru, which is what you'll need to use.

sorry i couldnt help more. but im not an expert on hookin stuff up. i have so many wires goin in and out eachother its crazy

I had the same problem but mine involved an MPC 1K a Fantom Rack, Motif ES Rack and one Alesis Ion.

Here are the relevant connection's with the Local Off function turned on on your Keyboard so as to prevent double triggering of note's.

There are various ways to do this but here is one of them.

MPC MIDI OUT A > MIDI IN on the Roland, MIDI OUT from the Roland to MIDI IN on the MPC. The Roland Keyboard needs to be in "Local OFF Mode"

MPC MIDI OUT B > MIDI IN on the Emu , MIDI THRU from the Emu to MIDI IN on the Yamaha.

Since the MPC is your master sequencer, it's best that you do all of your "rechannelizing" on the MPC. This is a pretty easy thing on the MPC, and one of the best thought-out parts on that product.

There are others ways to do this. This is just one example of many possibilities.
